It refers to the future you talk about with a significant other, your future house, and your family. Given the context of the songs on the album, I thought the title was perfect.

https://open.spotify.com/embed/album/3x9pZBDjby61RKlxkOw2xw?si=5YzTGZiVQiGFPRtflHgfVA&utm_source=oembed

Q: Can you talk about the creative process behind the making of this album?

A: I absolutely can. “London” was the first song I wrote for the album 2 years ago. Of course with the help of some friends, it got so much better. I wrote it firstly as a poem to help me cope with a breakup. Years later, I’m processing that relationship still in current relationships and therapy sessions. Suddenly, I had more to say and decoded to write from beginning to end, basically drawing the relationship from memory, the happy times, and the worst of times, to the relief that it’s finally all over.

Q: How does “Paper House” compare to your previous albums in terms of sound and style?

A: it’s the first time I’ve delved into experimental alt-pop. My previous sound was more alternative rock. I’ve found this style really suits me and I like it way more.

Q: What themes or messages do you hope listeners take away from the album?

A: Perspective is everything. All of the songs are up to interpretation. If you take a certain message from a song, as long as you can find comfort in my music, that’s all that matters and that is beautiful.

Q: Which song on the album do you feel is the most personal or meaningful to you, and why?

A: They’re all personal but I’d have to say it would be Pretend. It’s very different from the other songs on the album.

Q: How has your music evolved since your debut album?

A: I have more in my vault that haven’t made it on the album. Rest assured the next album will be similar but likely darker. Darker lyrics, darker tones, everything.

Q: Who are some of the artists that have influenced your sound on “Paper House”?

A: Many! The main of course is Taylor Swift. I fell in love with her style with Folklore and Evermore. The more acoustic alt sound with each album but what drew me in was her poetry. I know it recently came to that the albums tell a story about a love triangle so I organized my album to tell a story. I was also inspired by my friend and fellow singer/songwriter Drew Erwin. He has multiple songs I’ve found inspiration in, mostly in “Antidote, “Lifeline,” and “Anymore.” These were the main two.

Q: Can you discuss any collaborations or guest features on the album?

A: Yes! I’ve confirmed Grammy nominated Oliver Sean on a collaboration for a remote of London. If there’s more, everyone will for sure know!

Q: What was the biggest challenge you faced while creating “Paper House”?

A: honestly, just getting in the studio time. I’m obviously not my producer’s only client and it’s not her only gig either. We also had basically opposite schedules. Full album production took almost a year but it was so worth it.

Q: How do you envision fans reacting to this album during live performances?

A: I’ve seen fans hold up their phone lights to “Nothing From Nothing.” Seeing something like that has me feeling like we’re more intimate in that. My closest friends are always closest to the stage when I perform so I love looking at them and they’re singing along.

Q: Welcome!
